CHARACTERIZATION AND ANALYSIS OF AGRO-AQUA FOOD MARKETS
The food markets, both from agriculture and water, have characteristics that make them particular and that condition their supply, the structure of their chain, their integration and their traceability, among others. Therefore, its study requires the contribution of specialists.
Today, the highest demands of health, food safety, animal welfare, sustainability and unfair commercial practices impose new conditions to the production and supply of food on worldwide.
EVALUATION OF EXPORT PROJECTS
International markets are a permanent opportunity for new business for food exports, but it is necessary to evaluate in which cases there are real competitive advantages and which is the attribute or condition that gives the differentiating value and should be exploited.
For example, today China is recognized as the world's consumer country, and Chile has important comparative and competitive advantages to access it, but competition is strong and it is necessary to correctly evaluate opportunities and business models for it to be successful options.
In the same way, Chile is an attractive market for some food´s imports, which often forces domestic production to prefer external markets than domestic ones.

It is undeniable that Trade Agreements have been the main driver for Chile's food exports growth in recent decades.
It necessary to continue advancing in trade facilitation, in the registration of new products, updating of regulations, and reduction of tariffs, homologation of requirements, automation and use of information technologies in international trade processes, theres are a permanent challenge.
Chile is a open markets, today with 25 FTA the effective tariff for imports is minus 1%. Every year the food imports increases offer attractive opportunities for the trade partners.

I have participated in different instances of public-private work in the food sector, including the Food Export Council (Minagri-Sofofa), Food Cluster (Corfo-Minagri), "room next door" of Negotiation of Trade Agreements (Direcon-Sofofa), Sectoral Organization of Labor Competence (ChileValora-Minagri), Cleaner Production Agreement Table (ASCC exCPL), ChilePork Sector Brand (Prochile-Minagri), Official Missions with Authorities (Minagri, Direcon, Presidency).
SOCIAL FOUNDER OF ECONAT CONSULTORES
I have developed consultancies, studies and projects in agricultural and environmental economics, for private companies and the public sector: MOP, CONAMA, SAG, CONAF, INFOR, INDAP. In them, feasibility studies of new products and services in agriculture, impact of agricultural activity on territorial planning and sustainability were addressed.
